Australian Josh Brookes has penned a deal to remain with Milwaukee Yamaha for the 2015 MCE British Superbike Championship after agreeing a ‘fantastic deal’ with the 2011 title-winning squad.

Brookes has forgone a move to the World Superbike Championship in favour of remaining with Shaun Muir’s team for another season as next year’s new all-new R1 looks set to be a force to be reckoned with and he will not only ride the bike domestically but at the prestigious Suzuka Eight-Hours endurance race.

“I had a couple of options to ride in World Supers next year but the fantastic deal Shaun has put together for me to race again in BSB and with a potential new bike was too good for me to pass up,” said Brookes, speaking to bikesportnews.com. “I have a great relationship with Shaun and the Milwaukee boys, so doing a second season with them was not a difficult decision.

I had plenty of offers from other BSB teams, all good, but this was something I couldn’t pass up.” It is not known who will partner Brookes in the team and Muir will more than likely take his time selecting a second rider now his first choice has been nailed down.

Few confirmed details of the new bike, which is set to be unveiled at the Milan Show early next month, have leaked from the factory but it is heavily rumoured that Valentino Rossi has already ridden it and given the seal of approval.
